Clyde McNeil Obituary, Death – Clyde Lewis McNeil, who was 74 years old and lived in Lawrenceville, Illinois, died away in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana, on Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was the son of Clyde Homer McNeil and Mary Elizabeth (Stone) McNeil, and he was born on July 8th, 1949 in Vincennes, Indiana. On July 26, 1970, he tied the knot with Janet Kay Liddle, and she is still alive today.

When Clyde graduated from Bridgeport Township High School in 1967, he was a senior. In addition to being a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #136, he was the owner and operator of McNeil Machine and Welding Shop for more than four decades. Participating in antique tractor displays, steam engine events, drag races, and automobile shows was something he loved doing. In addition, he enjoyed servicing equipment after hours and assisting a large number of people.

His mother and father, as well as his two sisters, Mary Jane Earnst and Nellie Gochenour, passed away before him in death.
The following individuals are among his survivors: his wife, Janet; his two children, Johnathon McNeil and his wife, Traci, of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Jana Johnson and her husband, Kerk, of Rochester, Minnesota; one sister, Annabelle Holscher and her husband, Dale, of Zephyrhills, Florida; one brother-in-law, Jeff Gochenour, of Allendale, Illinois; and six grandchildren, Shelby McNeil, Erica Schubert and her husband, Austin, Ian McNeil, Caleb Johnson, Eleas Johnson, and Janilyn Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST). Funeral home visitation will take place on Monday, February 12, 2024, beginning at 5:00 PM and continuing until 7:00 PM Central Standard Time. The Lawrenceville City Cemetery will be the location of the interment. The Lawrence County Humane Society or another charitable organization of the donor’s choosing may receive memorial contributions in lieu of flowers.
